Hey there, everyone. It's been a while, I know. I've been quite busy; I've been in charge of booking our hotels and bed & breakfasts for the time we'll be in the U.K., and I've also been trying to figure out the best deal on rail passes.
So far things are looking pretty good. Luckily, we will be staying in the same hotel for the entire time we're in London. This means that from the 28th when we arrive until we leave for York on the 30th, we will be staying at the Hyde Park West Hotel, which is in or very near Notting Hill, I believe. We'll go to York on Sunday night, then Edinburgh on Monday, and Oxford on Tuesday. One night in each town. On June 2nd we'll be back in London, again at the Hyde Park West. Quite neat. It'll be nice already being kind of acquainted with the surroundings when we get back to London; we won't have to learn an entirely new area.
Also, Bridge just informed me that we were upgraded on our British Airways flight from World Traveller (Economy) to World Traveller Plus! This means we have bigger seats and more leg room, and she thinks we'll get other goodies, too. Very cool. I hope it means more alcohol so I don't have to be conscious while on the flight. :)
As you may have noticed, we finally decided on a city to visit in Scotland; Edinburgh. I desperately wanted to go to Glasgow, but I couldn't find anything interesting to do (I mean, besides move there permanently) and there was a major lack of listed Bed and Breakfasts. Edinburgh will probably be a better choice for a one night stay, as it'll be easier to find things to do (Ghost Walk!), and it appears to be closer to York.
So everything seems to be moving along nicely. Now that it looks like I've got the accomodations under control, I'll try to update this site a bit to reflect our most recent changes. Thanks for reading!
The site is complete!
After months and months of ignoring it, I finally bit the bullet and finished every page in one sitting. Quite nice to have it off of my shoulders now.
All pages are now functional, and a good number of British-related 100x100 sized avatars have been added to the
avatar page.
The
itinerary has also been updated, though I expect will be updated at least one more time before we leave.
Thanks to everyone who's hung in there while I've taken my sweet time finishing this. Hopefully the result will be worth your time. :)
I also recieved my passport in the mail, but they messed up and sent it through the regular mail (gah) instead of making me sign for it like I
paid extra to do. Grrr.
Edit: All of this information and more can now be found on the
credits page
hey everyone. added a few pages the other day... avatars, wallpapers, and there's a v. old version of the itinerary up on the trip details page. still not finished with the site, obviously, but i'm getting closer. my spot on the weekend potter trip has been reserved and by procrastinating about getting our plane tickets, we actually ended up saving some money. so the trip and the airfare is now taken care of, and monday my mom's getting my birth certificate out of the safety deposit box so i can go get my passport stuff.
i may do more work on the site tonight, so if you see any changes, they're most likely intentional. :)
hi, all. i just got back to arizona from colorado, which is a miserable place that i don't care to ever go back to, but that's beside the point.
this site will actually be finished quite soon, i promise! POSSIBLY as soon as next week.
updates will be posted on this page, for future reference, because there's no official update area and most of my job is setting up this site (and i understand i've so far failed miserably, but that's gonna change, dammit).
coming soon: buttons to link to our site (in case you're behind our cause but can't afford to help), and more about bridget and yours truly.
stay tuned for details. ta.
